The Seemingly60 Challenge 1.0

In a recent post, I talked about Roger Landry’s book Live Long Die Short. He talks about ten tips to aging successfully. So I thought it would be great to start some challenges to help all of us, challenges that we can do together. As the weeks and months progress, we’ll add to these challenges. Please email me if you’d like to contribute a challenge that is beneficial to creating a better longer life or share your suggestion in the comments section below.

The first challenge I’d like to put forth is one that I’ve been working on for the past several months:

So I thought I already had pretty good balance but as I’ve done this, I’ve seen amazing improvement. In stability on one foot and also length of time I can do this. I feel confident that I’m now less likely to trip and fall. And even when I do trip on occasion, I find that I’m better able to recover. I also feel stronger because you rely on your core for this. For full transparency, I’ve been doing this only at night. I brush my lower teeth on one foot and switch to the other foot for my upper teeth. Even if you start off by holding a finger to the sink counter, keep at it. I also do this barefoot. Socks are too slippery. As always, safety first.
